Vinetta Sawkar
Vineeta's professional goal to work in the Twin Cities was realized when she joined Hubbard Broadcasting in August 1995. Her role expanded when she was named weekend anchor in September 1998, and morning and midday anchor in November 2005. In 2007, the morning team won an Emmy for Best Daytime Newscast and in 2006, the Midday team earned an Emmy for Best Daytime Newscast / Ford Plant Closes. Before joining 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, Vineeta was first a reporter and weekend weather anchor at KXJB in Fargo, North Dakota, and then a reporter and fill-in news anchor at WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska.
