Kym Johnson, Dancing with the Stars

Entertainment Stage                                                                                                   Saturday 10 am, & 1 pm
Judging & Performance, with autographs in between appearances

If you're wondering who to thank for introducing Kym to the world of ballroom dancing, look no further than her immediate family. No, it wasn't her parents. It was her brother! Apparently, he thought dancing would be a good way to meet girls, so Kym was dragged along to the lessons. Way to go, bro!
It wasn't long before Kym was dancing competitively. In December 1998, she and then-partner Tomas Atkocevicius came second at the Australian DanceSport Championships in the Open Amateur Modern Ballroom.
However, we got our first DWTS glimpse of Kym she was paired with Jerry Springer in Season 3. Remember how Kym and Jerry were such fan favorites during their impressive run, which ended with a 5th Place finish? She stepped things up in Season 4 when she dazzled us on her way to a second place finish with Joey Fatone. Loved it!
You could say Kym "got down under" when she appeared on Dancing with the Stars (Australia). She also appeared in several TV ads as well as a sexy modeling shoot for FHM magazine. But even though the camera loves her, you can't keep Kym off the dance floor for long, as she also performed on the world tour of the modern ballroom stage show Burn the Floor. Other highlights of her successful career include dancing at Elton John's 50th birthday party and appearing in the hit movie Strictly Ballroom. But we'll always love her for Dancing With The Stars!

How to Talk Minnesotan presented by Plymouth Playhouse

Entertainment Stage
Saturday 12:00

It's a Heckuva Deal! Perfect for your family, friends and out-of-town guests!
After five record-breaking years at the Plymouth Playhouse, followed by two successful regional tours of the summer version, Howard Mohr's stage adaptation of his popular book, How To Talk Minnesotan returns for a limited run. OH FOR FUN!
How To Talk Minnesotan The Musical, Minnesota's longest running and most successful, original, homegrown musical comedy truly celebrates our Minnesotan culture. Opening in January 1997 at Plymouth Playhouse with the Summer version, the Holiday/Winter version was added in November 1998 followed by the Best Of version in 2001. The show has performed to an estimated 1 million visitors throughout Minnesota and regionally, was featured on Good Morning America and the Traveler's segment of the Discovery Channel.
Let the Humde family and friends at the Lost Walleye Lodge aka Plymouth Playhouse teach you the "fine art " of talking Minnesotan. Let them guide you through the basic lessons --"you bet," "whatever," and "that's different." Then learn the positive power of the negative and accepting food on the third offer. You will be treated to those beloved classics “Hotdish Hallelujah”, Northwoods Woman”, and “Brothers In Ice” along with new lessons and jingles like “Bigger Hammer Hardware” and “Bird Dog Brand Turkey Wieners.” Mohr says, “Don’t worry, you can still expect lots of laughs as you relax at the Lost Walleye Lodge and forget the world for a couple of hours. In other words, here’s your chance to go up to the lake without tying the bikes to the roof of the car.”
